Our saga begins 400 years before Episode 1...
Data tapes recently recovered show a system not previously known, the Dakluta System. 400 years ago, the Republic Survey Ship Arcturus found a system with 4 planets. It was Science Officer Lt. Haius Dakluta's turn to name the new system.
Republic Communications teams placed first one comm beacon, then another, then another, as they succumbed to meteor strikes, radiation, and strange alien bacteria. After the fifth, they gave up.
Much data was lost 300 years ago, when the Clans of Tarus arose to bring war to the galaxy. Few possess data that far back, except for a few smugglers. The place is probably crawling with them by now.
This is a surface map of the area most likely to harbor the smugglers' spaceport.
Disturbing rumors have arisen, much worse than we had thought. You must travel to Dakluta, visit the second planet, and make a full report. Keep your eyes open at all times, and may the Force be with you.
