• Talislanta Excellent skill based fantasy system in a rich, surreal setting. No Elves. One of the best.
• The Rocky Mountain Knights Home Page I used to be a member, but now I'm in the Rocky Mountain Roadkill.
• Free RPG WebRing List: Free downloadable games, can't go too wrong there.
• RPGNet sucks, try Pen and Paper
• You cannot live without Linux any longer. Get Debian. If you want a very easy to install distribution, try Ubuntu. I used to run Gentoo, but it has some irritating quirks. I use ArchLinux now.
• Once you have Linux, get GIMP(All the graphics on this page are from the GIMP). You won't regret it.
• I used to recommend GNOME but they're pretty much on a "seek and destroy all features" mission, so use KDE if you need a full desktop environment. For the geeky, Enlightenment is great, and Fluxbox is light and good looking.
